MINISTRY OF HEALING AND PASTORAL CARE
Jesus was all about healing people’s bodies, minds, hearts and spirits so that we are all able to experience as joyful and whole a life as possible. From a place of compassion we continue Jesus’ healing ministry.
This team of individuals trained in Healing Touch offer hands on healing energy treatments on the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm to individuals seeking healing of body, mind, heart or spirit.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM
These folks deliver casseroles, send cards, make phone calls or visits to folks who are sick, in hospital, going through a crisis or welcoming a new baby. If you would like to become a pastoral visitor please talk to our ministers.
Folks knit at home individually and as a group meet on the third Monday of the month from 1:00-3:00 pm to knit prayer shawls for folks that are going through a difficult time of sickness or change and would like to be wrapped up in God’s comforting presence. We bless the shawls and quilts twice a year in worship.
These folks pray in their own home to support people who have requested the incredible power of prayer to support and strengthen them – God’s first cyberspace.
This ministry recognizes that our pets are cherished members of our families and when our beloved pet dies we mourn their loss as deeply as any human friendship. We have celebrated our pets in a Blessing of the Animals Sunday.
At Christmas and Easter our sanctuary is graced with the presence of poinsettias or chrysanthemums which are later delivered to our shut-ins in nursing homes by volunteers.
